[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 4.7 MB]

The writer of the book of Hebrews in the New Testament spends one whole chapter recounting the deeds of great men and women of God. Many refer to this chapter - chapter 11 - as the "Hall of Faith." But when you take a look at who's in the "Hall," it becomes clear that each of these prominent figures had flaws - and made some serious mistakes. Beginning a four-week series on "Heroes of the Faith," Pastor Dave takes a look at the faith of Abraham and what it teaches us about having faith today.

September 3, 2006: Married and Buried
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 5 MB]

We don't normally associate marriage with being buried - the beginning of life together and the "end" of life don't seem to jive. But in Romans 7, this is exactly the progression that Paul makes when speaking of believers (the church, the bride) being united with Christ (the groom). When we believe that Jesus died for our sins and lives for our LIFE we are united with Him, joined irrevocably with Him. But we also die to ourselves - our flesh, the sin nature - and this is symbolized in the act of being buried (a picture of going down into the waters of baptism).

August 20, 2006: School of the ROCK: Singing Your Way Through Life
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 5 MB]

How can we sing our way through life? What does Paul mean when he says to sing to one another in "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs"? Pastor Dave explores how having friends to experience life with is part of God's design for His children. Tune in to the second message in the School of the ROCK series.

August 13, 2006: School of the ROCK: The Hiding Place
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 5.3 MB]

Pastor Dave begins a three-part series entitled "School of the ROCK" with a message on the importance of being alone with God as we journey in our faith. The School of the ROCK is the School that Jesus invites all His followers to enter - to come and learn from Him. Just as God instructed Elijah to hide in 1 Kings 17, so we must find moments of solitude and surrender.

August 6, 2006: Do You Tremble?
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 4.8 MB]

Felix was a governor of Judea in the Roman Empire. Paul was a zealous Jew-turned -Christian missionary. The two meet each other in Acts 24 as Paul was brought before Felix on charges that he was a dangerous rabble-rouser and Temple-profaner. Paul speaks of righteousness, self-control and coming judgment to Felix. What is Felix's response? Tune in as Pastor Dave reminds us that each person must decide how they will respond to Jesus, the Living Word.

July 30, 2006: Praising God in the Storm
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 4.9 MB]

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" These words were penned by David in Psalm 22 in the midst of a dark season of his life. Jesus would later cry out these words as he felt separated from His Heavenly Father (Matt. 27:46). Yet both David and Jesus were able to praise God even through the most dire of circumstances. How do we as believers survive the storms of life? Pastor Chris examines Psalm 22 and underscores three actions that empower joy-filled suffering.

July 23, 2006: MISSION POSSIBLE - When Jesus Shows Up (Conclusion)
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 4.8 MB]

As Jesus was commissioning his disciples He promised them that He would be with them, "to the very end of the age." (Matt. 28:20). Jesus promises all who believe on His name that His presence will be with them - and Paul clung to this promise as well. Listen in as Pastor Dave concludes his series "Mission Possible: Called" with 3 results of Jesus' presence.

July 16, 2006: MISSION POSSIBLE - The Surrendered Life
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 6.9 MB]

Are you tired of trying to do it all on your own ability? The world encourages us to be the "masters of our domain," but eventually we find that we are helpless to control and handle all that life inevitably throws at us. Jesus, on the other hand, invites us to come Him and lay our burdens at His feet. Pastor Dave has us examine how Paul learned that surrendering to His Lord was always a good decision.

July 9, 2006: MISSION POSSIBLE - Components for Effective Leadership
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 6 MB]

Almost all of us are leaders in one way or another - in business, at home, at church or in our community. Though there are many books and seminars on leadership, the Bible itself offers us solid principles on what it means to be an effective leader.

June 25, 2006: MISSION POSSIBLE - from Survivor to Warrior
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 6 MB]

Pastor Dave challenges us to remember our calling and the One who called us when going through difficult times in life. By looking to the example of the Apostle Paul, we see that it is through the hard times that true growth is experienced. As we rely on God's strength and realize His provision for our task we go from surviving to thriving as a warrior called to battle.

June 18, 2006: Jesus is the Answer
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 6.7 MB]

In Acts 18 & 19 the beginnings of Christianity continue to unfold, as Paul and his companions travel throughout Asia Minor with the good news of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. In three different situations Pastor Dave reveals that Jesus is the Answer to an incomplete message, to inaccurate knowledge and to inadequate power. As we begin a series on "Being Called," it's important to see that if God calls us to a mission, He will give us the strength to accomplish His purposes.

June 4, 2006: Culture Wars
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 5.3 MB]

Concluding a series on evangelism, Pastor Dave looks at Acts 18 and identifies three principles that can help us remain pure. First of all, we need to recognize resources available to us when we are discouraged. Secondly, we must realize our multiple sources of encouragement - God's Word, God's Service and God's Sovereignty. Finally, we must remain on course, according to what God has revealed to us.

May 28, 2006: Behind Enemy Lines
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 5 MB]

In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Aragorn makes the following statement to Theoden, King of Rohan: "Open war is upon you, whether would risk it or not." Each of us were born into a world at war, though its reality is often masked by the creature comforts and freedom we enjoy. Satan, the Enemy of God and Ruler of this World, desires to keep all of mankind in bondage to sin. He desires to defeat, discourage and distract every effort and attempt at spreading the gospel. The sooner we realize that we are "behind enemy lines" the quicker we ask for God's strength and put on the full armor of God (Eph. 6).

May 21, 2006: 3 Different People Touched by God
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 8 MB]

In His Great Commission Jesus commanded his disciples to "go and make disciples" - to multiply the church through the power of the Holy Spirit He would send at Pentecost. Charged with this mission, we go out looking to point people to Jesus and to testify to what He has done in our lives. But, did you every think of those we are called to witness to as seekers, slaves or sleepers? Pastor Dave teaches us how these 3 different kinds of people were touched by God in Acts 17.

May 14, 2006: Takin' It to the Streets - Finding Favorable Winds
[Stream/Download mp3 - approximately 6.3 MB]

One of the terms the biblical writers used to speak of the Holy Spirit was the Hebrew word ruach - "wind." Just as there is an element of mystery to the wind - we can't see it, but we can see its effects - there is an element of mystery with the Spirit (John 3:8). As we begin a series on evangelism - sharing our faith - Pastor Dave invites us to look at Acts 16 and see how God's Spirit directs Paul on his missionary journey.

May 7, 2006: Look! It's the Lord's Supper!
